The V.I.P. Club Changes

The V.I.P. Club is a subscription that will remove the level cap of 250 so you are able to level up till level 300, it also will give you 4x game speed as triple XP.

Previously The VIP club was able to level up till 250 and normal players just to 200.

The 3rd anniversary pushed that to level 300 and for normal players till level 250.

Cheating may be bad, but so is Zynga’s inconsistency

In light of the recent wave of suspensions and bans passed down to FarmVille 2 players, there’s no better time to examine the way Zynga handles cheats, exploits, and glitches in its games, both new and old.

Through Zynga’s both hands-on and hands-off approach to these exploits, players may have felt that they could get away with anything, especially if they routinely give money to Zynga in their favorite Facebook games. With these recent events however, we’ve learned that’s definitely not the case.

As a refresher, the recent launch of the County Fair in FarmVille 2 was met with lots of controversy, as it has yet to be released for all of the game’s millions of players.

The first group to receive the Country Fair seemed to be those players with the highest “value” farms, in terms of the value of items (Farm Bucks items) within those games.

Somewhere along the line, Zynga noticed that this group of players (some, mind you, not all) had farms that were worth far more Farm Bucks than were actually spent on those players’ individual accounts.

As a result, Zynga laid town temporary suspensions (typically of 1-2 days in time) to FarmVille 2 players that were found cheating, and subsequently removed all “cheated” content from those players’ farms. That is, Farm Bucks decorations that may have been purchased with cheated Farm Bucks were removed, although some glitched items remained with no real rhyme or reason as to why.

Obviously, it’s easy to say that players shouldn’t be angry at Zynga for having their items removed, or for being suspended if they were actually cheating. In Zynga’s own Terms of Service, the company states that cheating of any kind is never allowed, and that the company reserves the right to completely ban players that it finds breaking those rules.

From the Zynga TOS:

“You agree that you will not, under any circumstances use cheats, exploits, automation software, bots, hacks, mods or any unauthorized third party software designed to modify or interfere with the Service or any Zynga game experience… ZYNGA MAY LIMIT, SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR DELETE ACCOUNTS OR ACCESS TO THE SERVICE OR PORTIONS THEREOF IF YOU ARE, OR ZYNGA SUSPECTS THAT YOU ARE, FAILING TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THESE TERMS OF SERVICE.”

Lvl 80 FarmVille 2 player that got cleaned by Zynga

From this perspective, those cheating players “had it coming,” or “should have known better.” However, cheating has been around in Zynga games for as long as those games have existed. It’s not a new technique to getting ahead. Just search YouTube for “{Game Name} Cheats” and you’ll find all sort of links to bots or cheat engines that will help you succeed, at the risk of your Facebook or in-game account. So why, if cheating is such a huge part of Facebook gaming, is Zynga just making a fuss now? Why has Zynga allowed cheaters to flourish in so many of its games in the past?

By allowing players to earn thousands of “illegal” Horseshoes in Pioneer Trail, for instance, the company has set a precedent without actually saying a word. A player may believe “I didn’t get caught last time, so why would I get caught this time?”

This is even more of an assumption if that player has spent lots of money in Zynga’s games, and has been treated as “above the law” or otherwise “more important than everyone else” in the past. Add this to the simple fact that so many games come with too much content to keep up, and we find players backed into a corner and faced with a choice: to either accept the fact that they’ll always be behind (and perhaps quit the game out of frustration) or use cheats, glitches, and exploits to keep up (including using multiple Facebook accounts, which is against Facebook Terms of Service as well).

We’d never excuse players for blatantly cheating, as that’s a risk that each individual player has to accept and take on his/her own, but we can definitely understand the draw of such naughty techniques.

Who doesn’t want a farm (or a city, or a restaurant) full of expensive, pretty decorations? Who doesn’t love ‘free’ things? Unfortunately, for those players, it seems that the days of cheating your way to success in FarmVille 2 (or other newer games like ChefVille) are now severely numbered.

Nothing excuses Zynga’s complacency for allowing cheating, exploiting, and glitching in the past, but until the company decides to start treating every game and every player equal, the bans and suspensions are likely to only continue from here.

FarmVille 2: Purchase bundles for US Tornado Relief Efforts

Zynga has partnered with Direct Relief to support those affected by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma. The company has started offering special First Aid Stations in CoasterVille, and now special bundle packages in FarmVille 2 for players that are looking to donate.

There are three bundles available in FarmVille 2, depending on how much you’re looking to spend. Here’s the full rundown of offers:

10 Farm Bucks – 25 Fertilizer

25 Farm Bucks – Wishing Well Planter + 25 Fertilizer

85 Farm Bucks – Cottage Treehouse and 100 Fertilizer (4x 25 Fertilizer Packs)

Regardless of the bundle, purchases will see Zynga donating 100% of its share of the purchase price with Direct Relief to help tornado victims. It’s likely that other Zynga games will receive promotions in the future as well, so keep on the lookout if you’d like other options for donating.

CoasterVille: Tornado Relief First Aid Building Available Now

After the devastating tornadoes that ripped across Oklahoma earlier this month, Zynga has partnered with Direct Relief to bring help to those in need via the launch of the Tornado Relief First Aid Building in CoasterVille. This building is a special edition of the Never-Wait First Aid Station, which was released earlier this year, but it comes with extra bonuses.

The Tornado Relief First Aid Building costs 40 Park Cash to purcahse, with 100% of ‘Zynga’s share’ of the purchase price going to Direct Relief to help those affected by the recent Oklahoma tornadoes. This means that while Zynga won’t make any money off of the item, Facebook will still take its share.

If you decide to purchase this Tornado Relief First Aid Station, you’ll receive 200 coins per every 200 guests served, and the item will automatically collect its profits each time its full, so long as you’re actively playing the game at the time. This item will only be available for the next 14 days, so make sure to donate fast if you’re interested in helping those in need. Will you or did you already purchase one of these buildings? ChefVille ‘Lava Flow’ Quests Guide

As part of the Luau event in ChefVille, players are encouraged to place and build a Volcano in their restaurants. This Volcano is a multi-stage building project, requiring you to collect items from friends, while also collect items from themed dishes in this event. There are five quests associated with building the Lava Flow, and we’re here with a guide to getting your started on each.

Yolk Folks

Place the Volcano
Tend the Egg Crate 6 Times
Finish the 1st Volano Stage

The Volcano takes up four squares in your restaurant, and can be placed via this quest window. From there, you’ll need to collect four Fireballs and one Magma to complete this stage. The Magma is earned by posting a general request on your news feed for help, while the Fireballs are earned by cooking dishes. The Huli Huli Chicken dish, for instance, gives you one Fireball each time it’s cooked.

When you complete this first quest, you’ll receive four Butter, 10 XP, and 20 coins.

Knead to Know

Tend 5 Neighbors’ Wild Onions
Give Chef’s Services with Hawaiian Bread 5 Times
Finish the 2nd Volcano Stage

This second stage of the Volcano requires more Fireballs and other collectibles to complete. Each stage has more requirements than the last, so you’ll need to keep cooking these sorts of dishes as often as possible to eventually finish off all five.

For the Hawaiian Bread, this dish is cooked inside the Flaming Tiki Oven using one Egg, two Butter, and two Flour. You’ll receive one Luau Table, 20 XP, and 25 coins when you complete this quest.

Hooray for Souffle

Have 8 Kukui Nut Necklaces
Cook Macadamia Nut Souffle 2 Times
Finish the 3rd Volcano Stage

The Necklaces are earned by asking your friends to send them to you, while the Macadamia Nut Souffle is prepared using one Egg, three Flour, and two Macadamia Nuts. These Nuts can be earned from Crates, or by simply asking your friends to send them to you. When you complete this quest, you’ll receive two Eggs, 30 XP, and 50 coins.

Culture Cuisine

Have an Upgraded Flaming Tiki Oven
Give Chef’s Service with Siu Mai 3 Times
Finish the 4th Volcano Stage

The upgrade to the Flaming Tiki Oven isn’t available as of this writing, but will obviously roll out over the next few days.

Taro Two-Step

Have 8 Aloha Shirts
Have 2 Mastery Stars for Taro Rolls
Finish the Volcano

Finishing this final quest in this series gives you two Salt, 50 XP, and 1,000 coins. After you’ve finished the Volcano, you can use it to earn Luau dish ingredients for your restaurant. Good luck!

ChefVille ‘Polynesian Luau’ Quests Guide

In celebration of the return of Summer, Zynga has launched a Polynesian Luau event in ChefVille that will see you cooking new dishes inside the Flaming Tiki Oven and even placing a live volcano on your land! Don’t worry though, this is the safest volcano you’ll ever find. There are three new quests to complete in the “Polynesian Luau” series, and we’re here with a guide to helping you finish them off. Let’s get started!

Island Heat

Place the Flaming Tiki Oven
Tend Salmon Crates 5 Times
Tend Mom n Pop Shops 5 Times

The Flaming Tiki Oven can be placed via this quest window and unwrapped using three energy. You don’t actually have to build the item to complete this quest, however, so take the breather while you can. You’ll receive two Salt, 10 XP, and two Fireballs for completing this first quest.

Hula Hula

Complete the Flaming Tiki Oven
Have 8 Grass Skirts
Serve Huli Huli Chicken 5 Times

The Flaming Tiki Oven requires five Carving Tools, five Smooth Lava Rocks, five Banana Stalks, and five Chainsaws to complete. The Chainsaws and Smooth Lava Rocks are earned by sending out individual requests for your friends to help you, while the other two items are earned by posting general news requests on your wall.

When you complete the Flaming Tiki Oven, you’ll be able to cook Huli Huli Chicken using two Chicken, one Onion, and one Salt.

When you complete this second quest, you’ll receive three Salmon, 20 XP, and two Fireballs.

Island Chicken!

Have 8 Coconut Cups
Give Chef’s Service with Huli Huli Chicken 15 Times
Have 3 Mastery Stars for Huli Huli Chicken

The Coconut Cups are earned by asking your friends for help. Remember, if you’re looking to save energy while completing this quest, only offer Chef’s Services to tables with two guests, rather than one. That way, you’ll earn two points towards this quest for one energy each. Finishing this final quest in the series gives you a Luau Shirt for your avatar, 30 XP, and two Fireballs.

You’ll have just five days to finish these quests. Good luck!

Banned at FarmVille 2! You Should Have Known!

The County Fair wasn’t rolled out to all players but to a portion of players.

Zynga gave it the following reason:

The County Fair is a complex feature that touches many elements of the game. We are slowing rolling this out to all players over the upcoming months, so please be aware that you may not have this feature right away. We are very excited to get this out to all of our players as soon as possible, and we appreciate your patience.

However!

They did the same at another Zynga game where they rolled out a feature to a ‘portion’ of players.

And guess what?

Yes, it was raining bans ….

So what’s up with that?

We believe that Zynga rolled out the County Fair to players suspected from cheating or using automated tools (aka bots) to play the game and circumvent the game mechanics.

No surprise that everyone that got banned also seems to get a “Clean” homestead, where all obtained items (mostly premium ones) through cheating where removed.

What about glitches and game bugs?

So far it looks like only the players that used bots and obtained premium items without paying for it get a ban and their homestead cleaned of all illigal obtained items.

CoasterVille Kite Shop Quests Guide

Now that the weather has improved in many parts of the world, CoasterVille has received a matching piece of “outdoor fun” equipment: the Kite Shop. This Shop can be placed for free via a pop-up window like that one above, and you’ll need to spend a few energy to build its base. From there, you’ll be able to finish a series of quests to finish the Kite Shop, and we’re here with a guide to help you do just that!

Where There’s a Wind, There’s a Way

Stock 6 Kite Spools
Give 1,200 Goods for Kites
Search Shops 8 Times

The Kite Spools are earned by posting a general request to your news feed, while the Goods must be spent from your inventory to complete this quest. When you do, you’ll receive 100 coins, three Swan Feathers, and one Green Flower patch.

Your Own Set of Wings

Use 8 Rolls of Kite Fabric
Collect 4 Woodworking Kits
Visit 4 Friends

The Rolls of Kite Fabric are earned by sending out individual requests to your friends for help. Meanwhile, the Woodworking Kits are made inside the Prop Shop using 50 Goods. Each one takes two minutes to create. When you finish this second quest, you’ll receive a Plastic Seagull, 100 Goods, and a Grand Pink Flowerbed decoration.

Fly 3 Octopus Kites
Give 12 Popcorn
Have a Mascot Perform

The Popcorn is earned by searching the Popcorn Stall, and you’ll need to manually offer it over in this quest window to complete the task. You’ll receive three Satchels, one Pink Flower, and 100 Thrill Points for completing this quest.

Winds in the East, Mist Coming In

Have 4 Wind Socks
Boost 10 Attractions
Craft 1 Magic Chalice

The Wind Socks are earned by asking your friends to send them to you via individual requests. You’ll be able to craft the Magic Chalice inside the Prop Shop using two Gemstones, one Inspiration Light Bulb, and two Goblets. The Goblets and Gemstones are earned by boosting the Dragon’s Treasure ride and the Forest Faire, respectively. Finishing this quest gives you three Baseball Caps, a Tall Mesquite decoration, and 100 Goods.

A Dance with Dragons

Fly 2 Dragon Kites
Present 12 Goblets
Cook a Cream Pie

The Dragon Kites need to be crafting and then flown manually by hitting the button inside this quest window to give them over. The same can be said for the Goblets, which are (again) collected from the Dragon’s Treasure fantasy ride in your park. Finally, the Cream Pie can be made inside the Central Kitchen using two regular Pies, one Baking Supplies item, and four Hospitality.

When you complete the final quest in this series, you’ll receive 100 coins, four Carousel Horses, and a Wicker Bench for your park. These quests don’t have a time limit as of this writing, but we wish you luck completing them all the same.
