People often start playing Kingsage for the first time  on a brand new world, I did myself. It’s not always the best idea though, new worlds are very aggressive and even very experienced players sometimes struggle. The important thing is to get most benefit from those early days when conquest protecton is in place to get you off to a good start.

During your first week you cannot be attacked by anyone unless you yourself attack. You can however farm abandoned settlements with no penalty. This is followed by 30 days of conquest protection. For the first week then your priority should be building up your mines and warehouse.

Look around your map carefully and check the location of abandoned settleements. If there a some in easy reach then you can add a barracks and train some squires. If not leave the barracks until later. Also look carefully for a nearby very small inactive settlement. You will need this during the conquest protection phase.

As you get towards the end of the week start building up the hideout. No need to worry about the wall just yet but you can start improving your barracks and troop levels. These should be squires or berserkers for farming at tihs point. No rush for defence troops since you have no real need to defend anything.

Once your attack protection expires the fun begins. At this point you may well find yourself under attack from other players either just to steal your resources or to keep you weak until they can take your sett. There are three things you can do to combat this. One is your hideout will keep some resources safe. Build it up and use up your resources as fast as possible so there is never much to take. You can also build up your market. Put any excess good up at a silly exchange rate. That will keep them safe and if you’re lucky someone may even accept!

The final thing to do is keep your troops safe. You don’t want to lose them at this point since you will have need of them later. This is where that very small sett you located earlier comes in. whenver you go offline or are under attack send them there as support. By this point such a small sett cannot be attacked due to the 10:1 rule so they will be perfectly safe. A sett that is still under attack protection can also be used.

Don’t forget to build spies so you can keep an eye on your neighbours. Now is also the time to start building your wall and training more troops so that you are ready for business.

By the time your protection runs out you should have built up enough to give any local farmer a nasty shock and hopefully will even be in a position to conquer another sett of your own. Remember also that conquest protection only applies to your main sett and it isn’t lost if you take another players sett so you may even be able to expand before your protection runs out. You can take an abandoned or the second sett of another player even if he is still conquest protected in his main sett.

Start of World 57

It’s been a couple of months since our last world so it’s now time for World 57 to start. After our ‘no hauls’ experiment on World 56 we will of course be reverting back to allowing looting on this world.

World 57 is provisionally scheduled to start on Wednesday the 8th of June at around 17:00 server time (CET).

After releasing the patch 1.31 on german markets we figured out that we have to make some changes to the crafting system.

1. The cooldown of all useable products will be reduced to 10 minutes (written before)

2. We will reduce the difficult of the starting recipes that means you will need less products to craft the start items until a skill value of 100

3. We want to add some more start recipes which will build an own chain for example: You do a job to get leather after you found one leather you will be able to craft it to “better” leather. This “better” leather can be used to create “much better” leather with “much better” leather you will be able to create an item to use. As you can see with that chain you will be able to find just one leather and craft 4 times. (These chains are planned for every profession until a skill value of 25 or something like that).

Changes in crafting frontend:

I have made some changes to crafting frontend. First i converted it to the new screen layout. Second you will have a better overview about what products you need and which you already have.

There are of course many more combinations (there are over 70.000 combinations possible already and there’ll be even more!) available, so there’ll be plenty of possibilities to customize your character the way you want.

After successful release of the patch 1.31 on some german worlds we started to work with 1.32 (of course we also doing bug fixes in 1.31  ). With 1.32 we want to convert as many screens as possible to the new screen layout and window manager, some of them will just converted others will be completely reworked in order of that i have two screenshots for you.

For your information about the updates we started to translate 1.31 for all languages. We will finish the updates on german worlds this week. After that we will update other markets when their translations done.

Speed World Championship 2011

Speed World Championship 2011, celebrating Tribalwars.net’s 1000th Speed round. We have more than 5000 premium points up for grabs in this tournament, which will be played over the course of 12 weekends – starting this Saturday, on May 28th. We also have five Tribal Wars T-shirts to give away as prizes, too.

How does this work?
Every weekend, one championship round will be played, where you can collect “championship points” for a variety of different objectives during the round.

At the end of each championship round, your championship points will be added to your total score for the tournament.

Once all of the rounds have been played, prizes will be given to the winners of the tournament, and the overall champion will also receive the special forum title of “Speed Champion 2011” to show off their achievement.

Objectives

During the tournament, you gain championship points for achieving a variety of objectives, which will go towards your overall championship score. Some objectives are easier to achieve than others.

You can gain championship points by simply surviving the round and ending it with a single village no matter how small.

Or you can aim for the top and gain points for being a highly-ranked player at the end of the round.

Prizes

In addition to the regular round prizes, at the end of the championship tournament the following prizes will be given to the overall tournament winners:

• 1st place – 2000 premium points AND a Tribal Wars T-shirt AND forum title “Speed Champion 2011″.
• 2nd place – 1200 premium points AND a Tribal Wars T-shirt.
• 3rd place – 600 premium points AND a Tribal Wars T-shirt.
• 4th place – 400 premium points AND a Tribal Wars T-shirt.
• 5th place – 200 premium points AND a Tribal Wars T-shirt.
• PLUS! All players who participated in at least 6 of the 12 rounds will be entered into a prize draw, where five further lucky winners will receive 200 premium points each.

InnoGames has announced the starting date for the Closed Beta of the upcoming free-to-play Sci-Fi game Bounty Hounds Online (BHO).

Lord of Ultima will bring a brand new world online on Thursday the 26th of May. This time will be a new Russian World, World 4. It will be based on UTC+4.

There will be no more naval blockades, instead both towns and harbours may be occupied. To gain full control you need to do both. In addition rebellions will be conducted without a wall which will put an end to the ’1 spear’ rebellion. The occupation will remain in place now untill the rebellion or ‘free town’ mission succeeds so it will no longer be possible to avoid double cost by queueing troops during a rebellion.
